It was the visitors who found the net again before the break, with Quagliarella controlling the ball inside the area before firing a low strike into the back of the net.
It proved a hammer blow for the hosts, who failed to react as Italy picked up where they left off alter the re-start.

Shortly after the hour mark, Kalonas' free-kick went over as Lithuania struggled to get past Italy's well-marshalled defence.
The hosts could have reduced the deficit with one minute remaining but Tomas Danilevicius' free-kick flashed over the bar.
